Maranatha School Library Kewunor 2019

GBC Coverage 20.08.2019

28 of our volunteers embarked on a journey to Kewunor Village in Ghana in the summer of 2019 with a mission to improve the lives of over 300 Ghanaian kids by constructing a library for the Maranatha School.

Maranatha school is Help Me Learn Africa's landmark project, and now caters for hundreds of children from the village, and even from nearby (and not so nearby) areas.

The volunteers assisted in the construction, performing tasks such as fetching large amounts of sand from the beach and walking back to the site (which took a week to finish).

The next week was focussed on fetching gravel in order to mix it with the sand and cemenent to create a study floor.

Then volunteers moved on to the plastering and painting of the walls. Everything was done by hand.

In 4 weeks…Mission was accomplished and the library was built.
